|Trzebnica – the Third Parish Feast 'Bartłomiejki'|
On Sunday, August 24th 2008, thanks to involvement of the parish groups of St. Bartolomew the Apostle and St. Jadwiga of Silesia in Trzebnica, took place the third parish feast “Bartłomiejki”. In its preparations strongly engaged also the city and regional authorities of Trzebnica.
The solemn Eucharist in honor of St. Bartłomiej the Apostle, was presided over at 11 a.m. by Fr. Piotr Szyrszeń SDS, provincial secretary. The Holy Mass closed the Eucharistic procession with relics of the parish’s Patron Saint.
The feast began after 3 p.m. at the square by the field altar. Although it was rainy, there took place presentations of various musical groups: Trzebnica’s pre-school group, schola Jordan from Koczurki, children group “Nadzieja” from Lubliniec, song and dance group “Kaszubsko Rodzezna.” After 7 p.m. Dorota Osińska presented her recital and the family celebration closed the performance of Andrzej Cierniewski, star of the evening.
For the participants of the feast were organized various competitions and lotteries with a bicycle as the main prize. The inhabitants of the city could buy souvenir calendars of the International Sanctuary of St. Jadwiga of Silesia and coins minted especially for the occasion of “Bartłomiejki” feast. Traditionally, the most popular attraction was the cafeteria providing delicious cakes.
